About Document Authentication
- Many Countries around the world require certain documents to be authenticated for them to be useable in the Visa Application Process.
- Depending on the country, the authentication of a document may be called something different (i.e. Apostille/Legalize/Attest).
- There are two types of documents: Vital and Non-Vital. Each type of document will have different steps for properly authenticating them.
- Some countries require a longer authentication process than others. Your documents can take anywhere from a few days to a few months to fully authenticate depending on the country they will be used for.
- The process of having your documents authenticated correctly can be time-consuming and stressful. That’s why we’re here!

Hague Convention Countries
Since the Hague Convention was established in 1961, 90 countries have signed on, streamlining the document authentication process. In these countries, the final authentication step is obtaining an Apostille, available at state and federal levels. Typically, the process takes from 1 day to 4 weeks, with most documents authenticated in under a week.
Non-Hague Countries
Countries that are not a part of the Hague Convention all require further authentication of documents to be used in their countries. Fully authenticated documents are typically referred to as Legalized, Attested, or Authenticated documents. All Countries will require documents to visit their respective embassy to be fully authenticated.
